“And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps.” ~REVELATION 14:2

I think one of the best short stories written on synthesia is Jeff Ford’s “The Empire of Ice Cream”.
For me personally the 120,000 foot jump sucks! Why? Because at a biplane expo in Bartlesville this cat was barnstorming a Stearman and we got to ride in it. His name? Joe Kittinger. Now my fond memory of Biplane expo is how the second highest man to jump gave me an aeroplane ride. I feel let down—18000 feet to be exact!
Time to listen to the show.

Another great show. Excellent coverage of some stuff I wasn’t aware of. Patterns and light from sound? Fire-fighting sounds? It’s some really amazing stuff.
wow
this ep really opened my eyes (ears) to the foundational aspect of sound
again
great work fellas
there’s nothing like what you guys do here in Australia
not that I’m aware of anyway
maybe if there was it’d be harder to listen to
I reckon foreign accents go along way toward engaging an audience
if an Aussie was saying this stuff I may be less inclined to “lend an ear”
weird but true
Enjoying your discussions and catching up on these topics as time allows, usually on the night shift. This topic was interesting for my son as he is learning about sound design. The weapon part of your talk reminded me of Kate Bush’s song ExperimentIV. Keep up the fascinating work.
Synesthesia reminded me of that song from Chris Rice “Smell the Color 9”
