CCR 062: Bible Facts with Dr. Ken Johnson

As Evangelical Christians, the 66 books we have in our hands is all we need to gain salvation through the acknowledgement of Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord. However, commentary from extra-biblical text and the early church fathers help us fill in some gaps that otherwise would be lost to us in the modern era. Dr. Ken Johnson is one of those folks who have scoured many of these extra-Biblical text and writings of the early church fathers. Using the Bible as the grounded point of reference, Dr. Ken Johnson has been able to paint a picture of the ancient world that few are able to ascertain. From it, he has been able to not only show how the truth is found in the Bible, but also the significance of its prophecies, those already fulfilled and those yet in the future.

In this conversation, Basil, Gonz, and Dr. Ken Johnson dive deep into topics like Gnosticism, Genesis 6 and the identity of the sons of God. They also bring up Nimrod, Odin, Venus, and other ancient deities, ancient paganism, as well modern day prophecies, over 50 of which Dr. Ken Johnson thinks were fulfilled in the last century.

Dr. Ken Johnson is an author and lecturer who speaks on a variety of issues related to Bible prophecy, ancient history, and the apostasy that will form in the church in the last days. He received a Doctorate in Theology from the Christian College of Texas back in 1989 and He’s the CEO and founder of Biblefacts Ministries at and has authored twenty-one book including Ancient Post-Flood History: Historical Documents That Point to Biblical Creation, Ancient Paganism: The Sorcery of the Fallen Angels, Ancient Messianic Festivals: And The Prophecies They Reveal, and Demonic Gospels: The Truth about the Gnostic Gospel.

Wow… This has to be one of my favorite episodes of Canary Cry so far, and could easily be one of my top ten favorite podcasts EVER…

It was pretty amazing how there were so many questions about the typical things we all talk and speculate about so much, and he would respond with new information from early church fathers or apocryphal sources that I’d never heard before anywhere…

Overall I guess it just really impresses on me all the more that we have really missed out on a lot by neglecting the works of those early church writers to the degree that modern Christianity has. And it’s interesting because right after listening to this podcast, I listened to Chris White on Like Flint Radio, and lo and behold, he’s referring to a lot to early church guys and showing how it really fortifies a lot of the conclusions we come to in scripture, and helps fill in the gaps in many ways. Seems like in our Protestant zeal to preserve the sole authority of scripture, we have in many respects “thrown the baby out with the bathwater”, and left the writings of people like Origen and the others to the obscure study of theological academics, when there’s really no reason it should be so…. Anyway, gonna have to listen to this whole interview again because it was just so full of awesome insight. Keep it up…

Great show guys! Ken has a lot of info on his site. I will be spending some time there.

I always enjoy your shows even when you guys get wacky πŸ™‚

If you guys are not familiar with Don Dickerman you should check him out. He would make a great guest if you could get him on. His book When Pigs Move In is changing my life. For your listeners, who are probably more in tune to the supernatural reality than most believers, it could be a life changer as well.

No worries. Thanks for the comment. We might reach out to him. I’m interested. God bless.

    2. Awesome – deliverance ministries are so often over looked in the church today! I am super into healing and deliverance – it is so essential.

I thought the demons were the spirits of the Nephilim, so if the flesh dies they will need to secure a new body since the spirit can’t die (and theirs can’t be redeemed). So after the destruction of the flood they would be looking for a new body to fulfill their evil deeds, thus showing up also after the flood and starting all over. Now we are getting into hybrids so what’s happening to their spirits mixing of animal and man for enhancements etc. They may be all around us now, or soon! Just my thoughts πŸ™‚

      A good question.

  6. Great show again guys. Glad to see you getting someone like Dr Ken on your show to articulate some of the prophetic events in the land of Israel and the importance of extrabiblical works. I can’t tell you how many times I wish I could have chimed in.
Keep up the great work. Lets connect again soon by the way, maybe after things settle from the conference. God bless.

“Take their women”. Boy I hate that phrase.

  8. Captivating show!
Love conversations regarding our “real” past. It helps recalibrate our perspectives on the present.
I do have one question though…

At 103:00 when Ken is talking about prophecy concerning Israel vs. The Church – he states that the prophecies concerning Israel and the Church are not connected at all and that the Rapture could happen at any time because all 20 some “Church Prophecies” have been fulfilled.

    Here’s my question & concern…
What about these as yet unfulfilled prophecies??

β€’ The whole world will know us by our love for one another / John 13:35
β€’ We shall do greater works than Jesus / John 14:12
β€’ The Awareness of the Glory of the Lord will fill the whole earth / Habbakuk 2:14
β€’ There will be a great falling away of the Church / 2 Thess 2
β€’ 5 out of 10 Brides “wake up” with oil in their Lamps & go with the Groom into the Wedding.
(Is 50% of “the Church really ready today??) Matthew 25:1-13

The Rapture is undeniably a most profound & exciting thing to look forward to for everyone who loves & lives for the Lord – however, I for one am not looking forward to being “caught up in the clouds” AS MUCH AS I’m looking forward to becoming so much like Jesus here on Earth – that everywhere I go – people are healed & delivered because there’s more of “Him” in me than “me” in me – to walk in the Light – to walk by Faith and not by sight – to pray without a mustard seed of doubt – to let the Light of Christ so shine out of my very Being that He is revealed & made known through me. To walk in perfect Love.

This is my prayer for the entire “Church”, the Body of Christ, The Bride… let us rise up to our high calling & lead by example. We ARE His Holy Temple – He lives IN US. And IN HIM, we live and move and have our very Being…so profound.

    Just sayin’.
    In Christ – Lisa

    1. Lisa,
While I’m sure one of the show hosts would get back to you, I’d just like to say I concur with you that there is more to be fulfilled before the rapture. It is a popular phrase to hear educated scholars/teachers say nothing is left, all is fulfilled… but in reading your list of prophecies I had remembered yet another one, about the gospel reaching everyone in the world before the end will come, and that was in literal written form… so we should track the rate of Bible translation to gauge the fulfilment of that one.
Furthermore I think I remember the good doctor stating to be pretrib. I hope I am right on remembering that. Personally I follow more midtrib thinking after understanding verses like in 2 Thessalonians and how the restrainer (Holy Spirit) will be removed and at what time in regards to the revealing of the Antichrist.

      Blessings in your studies.

      Revelation Of The King

      1. Thanks for the reply Revie. (If I may call you that for short!)
        I appreciate your perspective.

A long time ago, I asked a friend where he stood on the Rapture and he said,
        “I’ll be pre-trib ’til I have to be mid-trib…
then I’ll be mid-trib ’til I have to be post-trib…
but if I must have a label – I guess you could call me
I asked what that meant & he said – “It means, things will all Pan out!”

        Just for giggles… πŸ™‚

  9. Awesome Guest & you guys really showed an impressive ability to be humble & allow your guest to shine while guiding him and asking exactly the right thing. I was so impressed by all three of you. Excellent. I am really stoked
to have found this man. Thanks
    God Bless your ministry

It disturbs me that he criticized Meditation .The scriptures are replete with examples of Prophets meditating during prayer. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
    this is just one example.
